The Mother’s Day Classic @ Nielson Park Sunday 12 May 2013 Starting at 08:30 am from Nielson Park Bargara, QLD. The Mother’s Day Classic is a walk event to raise money and awareness for breast cancer research. The event is held throughout Australia. To assist in the fight against breast cancer, a walk is being held starting at Nielson’s Park. The course follows the Bargara walkway to ‘The Basin’ and back to Nielson’s Park. All ages are encouraged to attend. It would be a great family day out. Families could then have their own picnic in the park following the event.

Or the Rise And Shine Queensland Tour On Sunday 12 May from 1-5pm.

The community made it through the severe weather that affected Queensland earlier this year, so now it’s time to have some fun and celebrate the great community spirit as the Rise and Shine Queensland Tour hits the road. This series of free community events will feature a range of family activities, a free barbecue and a live entertainment program, featuring some great Australian performers such as Ash Grunwald, Don Walker and Roz and the Wayward Gentlemen, plus family activities and children’s rides. Bring the picnic rug, gather up family and friends and come out for a fun day of entertainment!
